hen children’s book author Reetu Dua was growing up in Chatsworth, she always had her eye on the burgeoning community of Calabasas. After graduating from USC, she moved to Chicago for law school where she met Neil Ghodadra. The couple lived in Chicago for six years. Reetu practiced health care and real estate law at the prestigious law firm Holland & Knight while Neil completed his orthopedic residency and sports medicine fellowship at Rush University Medical Center, taking care of the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox. Reetu’s husband was offered a great job opportunity in Southern California. “We immediately started looking at The Oaks,” Reetu shares. “As someone with a passion for real estate, I had been following the real estate trends in the area and noticed The Oaks was considered a hot spot. The real estate market was down at the time, so I thought it was the best time to jump in. We thought Calabasas was the ideal place to raise a family and, to us, family was everything.” Neil and Reetu are doing just that. Their older son Arian, 3 ½, is enrolled at the Montessori of Calabasas Too, and younger son Adyn, 20 months, will join his brother in March. Arian is involved in
