ISSION Beach Community Arts Centre, known simply as Mission Arts, is inviting the public to help it celebrate 11 years of bringing creative opportunities to the people of Mission Beach and surrounding areas, with an Anniversary Awards Exhibition opening at the Centre on Saturday, 6 August. Since opening its doors to the community in 2011, Mission Arts has showcased the works of talented local and regional artists in an annual awards exhibition. Prized awards, made possible through corporate sponsorships and contributions by local businesses and individuals, are extended to artists in various categories. The Anniversary Awards Exhibition celebrates another year of successful operation at Mission Arts. The exhibi-

tion will include diverse works from artists across the region and is a unique opportunity for visitors to buy original works of art at affordable prices. The art to be featured in the exhibition includes several themes of focus including local scenes, figurative, flora and fauna, photographic and sculpture. Mission Arts opened in late August 2011 and was designed by Bark Architects and funded by the Federal Government’s Economic Stimulus Package. Mission Arts is proud that it is a professional, attractive, comfortable and very functional venue. It plays an important cultural role in the Cassowary Coast community, promoting the Arts, and providing a focal point for artists to meet and where everyone can join in social activities. The Mission Arts Anniver-

sary Awards Exhibition will be open to the public and will be shown daily from August 6 to September 13, 2022. Opening night is a ticketed event and information regarding this is located on the Mission Arts website:https://bit.ly/3Ph6jwe Gallery entry is free of charge though gold coin donations, which support the ongoing exhibitions, events and activities of the arts centre, are gratefully received. The Mission Arts Anniversary Awards Exhibition is presented by the Mission Beach Community Arts Centre and made possible through the generous contributions of major sponsor Community Bank Mission Beach, Bendigo Bank and our other award and supporting sponsors.
