How to repair
A MEDIUM HOLE
This is best for a hole of around 30-50mm, which might have been made by a door handle or similar. You’ll need a utility knife, 120-grit abrasive paper with a sanding block, self-adhesive fibreglass mesh tape, Selleys ‘Spakfilla Rapid’, a mini roller with tray, and paint in the same colour as your wall.

Use a utility knife to carefully trim around the edges of the hole to remove any torn paper or flaky debris, then smooth over the hole with a sanding block wrapped in 120-grit abrasive paper. Use a cloth to wipe away the dust.
Use abrasive paper with a sanding block to sand over the filled area in a circular motion, smoothing over the edges and onto the surrounding wall. Wipe away any dust with a cloth.
Cut a piece of self-adhesive fibreglass mesh tape to fit over the hole, ensuring there is excess to adhere to the wall, applying two pieces if necessary. Centre the tape over the hole and press it onto the wall.
Push filler into the mesh with the supplied spatula in a wiping motion from opposite directions, spreading it onto the surrounding wall 20mm past the tape. Scrape over the area to remove excess. Leave to dry for at least half an hour.
Reapply filler over the area using a wiping motion from opposite directions, extending the coverage onto the wall by about 20mm around the area. Leave to dry thoroughly, then sand and wipe away dust.
Pour a small amount of paint into a tray and use the top section of the tray to roll out the paint and remove excess, then roll over the repaired wall area, feathering the edges. Leave to dry then repeat, applying two or three coats.
