Earl McClanahan, manager of O'Malley Lumber & Supply Co. at Nogales, Arizona, and his wife Velsie, recently spent a three weeks vacation motoring through the Midwest and South. High spot on the trip was a stopover at New Orleans to see the sights.
The wife of Dick Brecheisen, Cactus Lumber & Supply, Phoenix, was seri6irsly injured in an auto accident during mid-November, but is reported well on the road to recovery now.
Tom Mulholland has replaced Dolph Treat at White Mountain Lumber Company, McNarry, Arizona. Dolph recently retired to run a private water company locally.
Robert D. Kohn, formerly located at the Mt. Shasta plant of Ralph L. Smith Lumber Co., was recently transferred to the company's Anderson plant.
Ike Zafrani, president of Harbor Lum'ber Company, San Francisco, has just ernbarked on a 'round the world trip which'll take him to Hawaii, Japan, Manila, Hong Kong, New Delhi, Lebannon, Aleppo (Syria, Ike's birthplace) and on through Europe. Ike claims the trip has been in the planning stage some 30 years, especially the pilgrimage to Syria where he sez he might scout around for a harem or an oil well or two if he has the time.
Mack Giles, Marinland Lumber, made a little deer hunting safari into the wilds of Nevada last month and last we heard Mack had an Elko casino prize lor the season's largest buck on ice.

Harry Jordan, president of Jordan-International in San Francisco, spent most of last month in the Far East on business.
Tom Parker returned to San Francisco the first of December after a month in Japan, Formosa and the Philippine Islands on M. S. Cowan Co. business.
Jerry Mashek recently announced the addition of Jim Adams as salesmanager of Hill & Morton's Fresno distribution yard. Jim at one time owned and operated Fowler Lumber Company and more recently had been active in t'he wholesale business in the Fresno area. Elvert Gantt continues on as yard manager and Andy Wills, formerly with Kellner Lumber Company, has signed on as Hill & Morton's office clerk.
E. L. Bruce Company's Ralph Norback attended the National Association of Home Builders Convention in Chicago during the first of December.

Obituariis
Tohn Stewart, for more than 33 years identifi-ed as superintendent for Frost Hardwood Lumber Co.. San Diego, California, died November 19, 1961, following a short illness.
'Ihroughout his lifetime he was a prominent leader in the lumber industry and is a Dast Dresident of the San Diego Concatenated-Order of Hoo-Hoo. He was active in civic and social afiairs in his community right to the end and his many friends will miss him.
George Arthur Fischer, founder oJ North Side Lumber Company, died at his home at 1406 East Floradora.Avenue, Fresno, California on November 13.
A native of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Mr' Fischer was in the lumber business in Great Falls, Montana, until moving to California in 1939. He had lived in Fresno since 1939' when. with two of his sons, Joe H' and George R., he established the North Side firm; he was president of the company until his retirement a Year ago.
