Digest Available Without Chcrrge OI Forest Lqws crnd Prcrctices

Pocket manuals containing a digest of forest laws and practices of the Douglas fir region have just been published by the Joint Committee on Forest Conservation, according to Warren G. Tilton, forest engineer.

The easy-to-understand, pocket-size booklets cover state laws on conservation and protection requirdments in logging camps, Tilton pointed out. State forestry lar,vs anrl alnendments passed by the legislatures of Oregon and Washington this spring are included in this forest law digest.

One booklet has been published on Oregon forest larvs and one on Washington forest laws, because of some variation between the forestry laws of the two Douglas fir states. Simple, 'pen-and-ink sketches liven up the text and illustrate pertinent points.

Tilton advises that both the Oregon and Washington forestrv pocket manuals are available in limited quantities and may be obtained without charge by writing foint Committee on Forest Conservation, 1410 S. W. Morrison Street, Portland 5, Oregon.
