New Plastic Floor Tile Announced
Johns-Manville announces development of an entirelv new type of decorative floor covering. Knorvn as "Permalite," it is described as a plastic asl>estos floor tile that comes in a wide range of bright, clear colors and "rvill rvitl-rstand almost any service condition."
According to J. P. Stiger, manager of Johns-Manville floorings, Permalite is unaffected by grease and oil, alkaline moisture, and even mild acid solutions. It can be applied belorv grade as rvell as above grade. Being extremeiv flexible, it can be laid over any type of base since it rvill conform to uneven floor surfaces and rvill absorb the normal play of wood floors, thus being considered excellent for either new work or remodeling.
"Ease of nlaintenance" Mr. Stiger points out, ,,makes it desirable in office, reception rooms, schools, hospitals, and other similar institutions. Its grease and oil-proof charac_ teristics make it adaptable to kitchens, restaurants, bakeries, drug stores, and various types of light manufacturing areas."
An illustrated brochure entitlecl ,'permalite, The Nelv Plastic Floor Tile" is now available in full color, including large reproductions of the individual marbleized colors in which the product is manufactured. A copy .n,ill lte sent on request to Johns-Manville, 22 East 40th Street, Nen, York 16, N. Y.
Eldredge Miller, Sales Promotion Department, states that the denrand for this product has so far exceeded the present manufacturing capacity that it rvill not lte immediately available in the Pacific Coast area.
