At least in the case of Sequoia Forest Industries, we could run the feature under the headinp "Politics." - Editor struction of the new city of Lakewood. He sold the firm to Insilco Corp. in the early 1970s, but remained as chairman until his retirement in 1983.
Woodrow O. "Woody" Ashby, 83, retired plant manager, Diamond International Lumber Co., Red Bluff, Ca., died May 13 in Red Bluff.
A native of Poplar Bluff, Mo., he was working on Guam as a government contractor when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. whereupon he became a prisoner ofwar and was held in Kobe, Japan, for 45 months.
He began working for Diamond International in 1964, became manager the following year, and retired in 1983.
