Depot May Garry Appliances

As part of a broad review of what it sells, Home Depot is contemplating stocking a wide range of appliances, including refrigerators, washers and dryers at its stores.

The chain has enlisted Don Galloway, a former executive of appliance and furniture retailer Roberds Inc., to investigate product lines, speak with manufacturers and negotiate prices.

A decision on appliances reportedly is months away.

Currently Depot stores carry a very limited line of ovens, dishwashers and refrigerators for customers remodeling kitchens. Its upscale Expo locations stock a larger assorfinent.
