Absolutely New

A distinctive new label design is being introduced by Absolute Coatings, Inc. to give their entire line of products a unified and easily identifiable look. The new labels bear stylized graphics which reflect the Absolute Coatings, Inc. logo, and special picture-panels which depict uses for the product.

Absolute Sealer & Finish, a quick-drying, long-lasting finish for wood and concrete, is the first of the products to use the new label design, which have a clear, uncluttered look that makes it easy for the consumer to identify the product at a glance. Vivid white and blue lettering stand out distinctly against a rich brown background. The brown background, also used on Absolute Satin Varnish and Spar Varnish, signals the consumer that the can containi a "wood care" product.

Many of the products have multiple uses, and the customer should know immediately that Sealer & Finish, for instance, is strong enough to be used on a floor as well as on fine woodwork. Insulating Windows

The homeowner can easily and economically remedy the problem of inadequate window insulation, whether the home has horizontal, vertical or non-thermopane picture windows. Insulating "storm" windows of high strength aluminum are easy to install, attractive and almost maintenance free. They also offer added security, with integral locks.

The variety of styles and colors available complement the decor of any home, and finishes are mar and fade resistant baked-on acrylic or natural tones.

The do-it-yourself homeowner need only perform two simple measurements at each window, select the style and color of insulating window desired, place the order with his local distributor, and install the windows.

Installation is no tricky procedure. With a drill, screwdriver and caulking gun, a weekend's effort can result in attractive windows that permanently protect against energy losses, provide added security, and never need painting or caulking.

Adjustable sashes and fiberglass screens provide ventilation in spring and fall. All glazing is flexible vinyl, weatherstrip is full-bodied pile or vinyl. Panels are removeable for cleaning.

Triple-Glazing System

A new triple-glazing system for Perma-Shield gliding windows that substantially reduces heat loss has been introduced by Andersen Corp.

Double-pane insulating glass, which olfers a major part of the fuel-saving benefits of single glazing with storm windows and has only half the glass surface to be cleaned. is standard in Perma-Shield units.

Removable storm panel over double-pane insulating glass-triple glazing-will increase the insulating value ol these windows by more than 3506 o.ver double-pane insulating glass atone.

With this new system, Andersen now will be able to offer a triple-glazing option on all units except the gliding doors and prefinished basement/utility window.

Frost-Break Design

Engineered to block heat flow across an entrance sill, a new one-piece aluminum threshold has been introduced by Benchmark for its insulatecl steel entrance systems with standard inswing doors.

This frost-break feature has a rigid polyurethane polymer connector built into the extruded aluminum threshold which forms a thermal barrier while preserving the strength of the metal.

Benchmark's newest energy-saving rhreshold is similar to its 7 l/2" width one-oiece aluminum threshold for the 2" x-6" stud wall energy construction method. Benchmark also offers an outswing standard width version.

Manufactured by General Products Co., Fredericksburg, Va., the Benchmark entrance systems have completely weathersealed frames and come in l4 styles of insulated steel doors which include single and double door units, sidelights and the new Vista 2panel and 3-panel insulated patio door systems.
