aI NE OF the nation's oldest V 6sp6*ur. companies, The Stanley Works, has gotten actively involved in the growing energy conservation field with a series of new products, displays and merchandisers for dealers.

The company, which got its start in 1843 making a line of basic tools, has recently introduced a new merchandiser that holds a complete line of energy saving products.

Called The Weather Station, the merchandiser has dynamic, consumer-oriented packaging, full color "in use" photography, easyto-understand product names in bold graphics, and simple instructions to make it easy for the consumer to use the right product on the right job. There are alternative

uses listed on the package, good product visibility, and specific instructions enclosed inside. Each package is topped with the "Saves MoneySaves Energy" banner to generate consumer interest.

Merchandising is the key to The Weather Station. Use of the UniRack II plus 2 modular merchandising system wastes no floor space. Reordering is simple with preprinted name and address labels. Merchandise headers feature powerful full color in-use photographs of product application that reduces the customer's need to seek sales help. It helps stop lost sales caused by customers who can't find the product they're looking for.

Also part of the merchandising program are cardboard dump displays, modular wire racks and the 4' x 4' custom Uni-Panel. which allows the dealer to order a complete energy saving department with one number.

Another sales aid is the Energy Saving ldea Center. It contains l5 free take-home brochures that describe various ways to save energy throughout the home.

Stanley Hardware also offers the industry's first point-of-purchase audio-visual film on energy saving and weather striping.
