The 2022 First Responders Recognition and Awards Luncheon was held on Thursday, April 21 at the Adams Point Conference Center. Nominees from Central Jackson County Fire Protection District, Southern Jackson County Fire Protection District, Blue Springs Police Department and Blue Springs School District Police were presented with awards in recognition of their heroism, dedication and community service. MEMBER NEWS Congratulations to Blue Springs School District Superintendent Dr. Bob Jerome on completing the American Association of School Administrators National Superintendent Certification Program. The program sharpens the skills that successful superintendents identify as essential for leading in today’s complex and challenging education environment. It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of LaKisha Hopkins, owner of OMG Coffee & Donuts. Her dedication to providing the Blue Springs community with beautiful and delicious donuts was outmatched only by her love for people. Kisha will be dearly missed and our thoughts and prayers go out to the Hopkins family and friends. The Career & Technology Center at Fort Osage is hosting its annual Career Fair on Friday, May 6th. This event is free to local businesses and lunch is included for all attendees. The fair will have two sessions, an AM session from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and a PM session from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Over 300 juniors and seniors will pass through the event, with students and soon-to-be graduates looking for fulltime and part-time job opportunities. A full list of our skilled trades and college-preparatory programs can be found by clicking on “Programs” at https://www.fortosage.net/ctc. The Blue Springs School District is planning their annual College and Career Fair on October 12, 2022. The key to a successful event is the quality of colleges, trade schools and trade industries attending our event. To learn more about the opportunity to showcase your institution to parents and students in our area, contact Tracy Kempf at tkempf@bssd.net, or call 816.874.3516. Congratulations to Ashish Patel, Hampton Inn Kansas City - Blue Springs on being appointed President of the Board of Missouri & Kansas Hotel Owners Association.

Joshua Blanch (816) 499-2676 joshua@proroofersllc.com

I am Joshua Blanch owner of Pro Roofers LLC. Here at Pro Roofers we strive to do much more than handle your roofing needs. My mission personally, and the mission at Pro Roofers, is to build people, solve problems and live fully. Your complete roof installation or repair, guttering or vinyl siding needs will be handled with integrity and that means full communication between all parties, quality workmanship and materials and the greatest of care in every stage of the process. YOU matter to us. We consider our customers family and that makes all the difference. I am a devoted family man. My sweetheart, Bekah, and I have been married 9 years. We have

three incredible kids ages 7, 4 and 7 months. We have an active, fun life together, enjoying traveling, biking, fitness, running 5K’s as a family and they cheered me on as I completed an Ironman competition last year. We are also heavily involved with many wonderful church activities and responsibilities. I am an avid reader because growth is very important to me. Let me leave you with this quote by Jim Rohn, one of my mentors. “In all your doing, make sure you’re becoming”.
