Katherine (Gilmor) Naughton ’91 and her husband, James, welcomed their first child, James Gilmor Naughton, in January 2009. Katherine is a clinical assistant professor at the School of Veterinary Medicine at Purdue University. Heather (Countryman) O'Brien ’91 and husband, Matthew, welcomed Evan Johns on Jan. 30, 2009. He joins big sister, Alice, and big brother, Andrew. Everett “Scott” Stokes ’93 was named a distinguished alumnus in the fall of 2009 by The Orchard School. He is currently a Flight Controller in the Environmental Systems Group (EECOM) at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston. Scott and his wife, Chandria, are the parents of two sons, Chase and Bryson. Kasey (Blue) Elwood ’94 and her husband, Chris, welcomed the birth of their first child, Ashlynn Coral Elwood, on Dec. 1, 2009. Carey Rogers ’95 married Justin Theodore Kulongoski on Oct. 17, 2009. The couple reside in San Diego, Calif. Stephen Scott ’95 and his wife, Elizabeth, welcomed their first child, Archer William Scott, on Sept. 29, 2009, their third wedding anniversary. Archer weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces.

Judd Baker ’97 and his wife, Cary, welcomed newborn son, Hiram Judson Baker Jr., on Aug. 22, 2009. He joins big sister, Isabel. Rebecca (Elberger) Brown ’98 is a life coach and teacher. She and her husband, Josh, have a year-old daughter.

Montana Ray ’02 welcomed son, Amadeus Tate, on March 30, 2009.

Thomas Tyson Cook IV ’00 graduated from IUPUI's Herron School of Art in 2005 with a B.F.A. in Photography. Since then, he has moved to Florida, where he holds a Florida Professional Teaching License in Art K-12. He is currently employed with Lake Mary High School in Lake Mary, Fla., as a high school art teacher teaching creative photography.

Geoff Smith ’03 married Meghan Farrell on Feb. 21, 2009, in Naperville, Ill. Members of the wedding party included best man Brad Smith ’01, Chris Ehinger ’03, Matt Newberg ’03, Adam Tooman ’03 and Brian DeBruler ’03. Geoff received a B.S. in management from Purdue University, with a major in finance. Geoff and Meghan have recently moved to Illinois where Geoff began a position as a property analyst with May Centers Advisors in Oakbrook.

Jacque Beckley ’01 and Brad Smith ’01 were married June 27, 2009, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Carmel, Ind.), followed by a reception at the Skyline Club in downtown Indianapolis. Groomsmen included best man Geoff Smith ’03, James Beckley ’00, Nick Elliott ’01 and Gene Pecar ’01. Bridesmaids included Emily Smith ’06 and Jenna Beckley ’12. Jacque graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2005, and has recently started her own business providing math tutoring to students. She has also trained for and run marathons, including the Chicago, Richmond and Boston Marathons. Brad graduated from University of Virginia in 2005 with a double major in commerce and foreign affairs. He has recently begun studies for an M.B.A. at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, in Evanston Ill.

After graduating from Boston College in 2008, Cara Caponi ’04 is finishing her first year as a Jesuit volunteer in Tacna, Peru. She will be there one more year, teaching at a Jesuit school, Colegio Miguel Pro. John Hegde ’04 graduated from Indiana University-Bloomington in 2008 with degrees in biology and biochemistry, and minors in French, mathematics and political science. He is currently a second year medical student at Harvard Medical School. Michelle Ort ’05 graduated from The College of Wooster summa cum laude with a B.A. in “Linguistics and Language Learning” in 2009. She has received a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Grant to Ukhta, Russia, for the 2009-2010 school year.

Paul Gahwiler ’98 recently graduated from IUPUI with a major in psychology. He is currently serving as a 2nd lieutenant in the United States Army. Katie (Witchger) Mayer ’99 and her husband, Brebeuf social studies teacher Matt, welcomed newborn son Michael Patrick on Jan. 28, 2010.

Robyn Stokes ’96 was named a distinguished alumna in the fall of 2009 by The Orchard School. Bert Poorman ’97 and Amy Mink ’98 were married Oct. 10, 2009, at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. Wedding party members included: Jessica (Mink) Mason ’96, Lisa (Moyes) Stark ’96, Ashley (Morris) Hurley ’97, Ryan Hurley ’96, Mike Mallon ’96, Bill Witchger ’96, Kevin Quinn ’96, Chris Natali ’96, Tim Olsen ’96, Aaron Fitzgerald ’97 and Nik Atkins ’97. The couple were blessed to celebrate their marriage with many of their alumni friends and Brebeuf faculty members.

Grant Moore ’01 recently created a website for his project Working Vision (www.workingvision.org). Working Vision is an occupational and ophthalmic health outreach program focused on assessing and reducing the incidence of work-related eye injuries by distributing new and lightly used safety eyewear to workers in developing nations.

Stuart Blankenhorn ’06 is a senior at Purdue University, majoring in biochemistry with a double minor in computer science and economics. He was elected and initiated into the Phi Beta Kappa Society in the spring of 2009, and is an officer in the Economics Club. He will graduate in June 2010, and afterwards will be moving to Chicago to start as an investment analyst at the Bank of Montreal.

Herman Whitfield ’01 has written his first opera entitled “Small Box,” which premiered on Nov. 7, 2009, at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater in Bloomington, Ind.

Paige Rittgers ’06 was the recipient of the Millie Compton Scholarship, which is an ongoing scholarship awarded each academic semester to an intern for The Children’s Museum in Indianapolis.

Amanda (Stafford) Lewallen ’02 has committed to CVS to be a pharmacist after graduation in June 2010. HIRAM JUDSON BAKER JR.

Michael Sullivan ’09 was elected as Vice President of the freshman class at the College of Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass.
