Fred Skog is parade grand marshal
Bob and Bonnie Mudek are honorary grand marshals
The St. Patrick’s Day Committee selects the parade grand marshal and honorary grand marshal by choosing an outstanding business owner, manager or employee who exemplifies a commitment to the benefit of the community of Crosslake.
This year, the committee chose Fred Skog, founder of Crosslake Sheet Metal, as the grand marshal, and Bob and Bonnie Mudek, owners of Riverside Inn, as honorary grand marshals.
Crosslake Sheet Metal is a second generation business that has been serving the Crosslake community for 49 years. Today, Skog’s son, Karl, leads the business that employs 29 fulltime positions.
Their generosity is shown by being involved in every event and activity that takes place in Crosslake.

Myogeto and Heales presented Fred Skog, the 2023 parade grand marshal, with a sculpture plaque designed and crafted by Pequot Manufacturing on Feb. 8 in Crosslake. Fred Skog has set an example of how small businesses can be operated with integrity, efficiently and generously contributing to the community in which they serve.

Bonnie and Bob Mudek, center, were honored Feb. 8 as honorary parade grand marshals for the 2023 Crosslake St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Presenting the award at Riverside Inn were Crosslake Chamber of Commerce Director Cindy Myogeto and Bob Heales, Crosslake St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee chair.
The Mudeks took a chance in 1978 by moving to Crosslake with three small children and taking ownership of Riverside Inn.
In the early years, when Crosslake was a more seasonal community, they managed to keep the doors open yearround through creativity, consistently delicious offerings and excellent service.
Today, they operate Riverside Inn Supper Club together with their sons, and they haven’t waivered from their early recipe for success.
