L-r: Former headteachers Chris Dursley and Lois Haydon join present head Phil Winterburn in cutting a cake to mark the school’s 20th anniversary

WHEATFIELD Primary School held its bi-annual Grounds Day again on Saturday 13th October. Staff, parents and children came together to help tidy up and prepare the school grounds for winter. The day also marked the 20th anniversary of the school’s official opening and the launch of a series events that the school will be holding across the academic year to celebrate this important

milestone in its history. Past and present headteachers from the school (Miss Chris Dursley, Mrs Lois Haydon and Mr Phil Winterburn) all attended on Saturday and they, along with some of the children, planted seeds in a new wildflower garden to recognize the occasion. Those who attended were rewarded with cake and marshmallows around the fire pit.
