COMMERCIAL PRODUCER OF THE YEAR ROUTLEDGE STOCK FARMS Routledge Stock Farms is a grain, cattle, and custom feedlot operation located near Lenore, Manitoba. It is run by Chris and his wife Charlene and their 2 children Owen and Avery. They have 2100 acres of grain land, feed 1500 head of cattle in their feedlot, and calve 170 cows. They have been using Simmental bulls in their breeding program for over 20 years. They like using Simmental bulls for their growth, easy fleshing, and terrific maternal traits. They have noticed that Simmental cross calves in the feedlot convert and gain on a consistent basis from backgrounding to finishing.
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE The Keystone Konnection Simmental Association celebrates their 40th sale this year - the longest running association sale in the country. Certainly this milestone is a testament to the dedication of the breeders, both past and present who make up the membership of this group. To the buyers and bidders who have supported our sales over the years, we say thank you. Again this year we have some new members joining our group. We welcome them and look forward to their contributions, both as sale consignors and voting members of our association. This is Bohrson Marketing’s’ 2nd year as our sale management and we continue to build a strong relationship with them.
