Marguerite (Margie) Fulton joined Blair’s faculty as a history teacher after earning a BA in history with a concentration in leadership studies and a language certificate in German from Williams College in 2012. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she is an admission counselor and head coach of girls’ JV field hockey and assistant coach of girls’ varsity basketball. She lives on campus above the Hoffman Health Center and does dormitory duty in South Cottage. Anthony Stival ’07 teaches history and coaches cross country, basketball and lacrosse. He completed his undergraduate work at Bowdoin College in Maine in 2011 and worked as an executive assistant at Seasmoke Productions, a company owned by former Blair teacher and filmmaker Steven Kampmann. Anthony joins the Insley Hall dormitory staff.
Dr. Carl Christianson joined Blair’s science department as a chemistry and honors chemistry teacher. Prior to coming to Blair, Carl taught biochemistry courses at Boston College and worked as a biochemical researcher at the Max Planck Institute in Berlin, Germany, where he helped to develop a vaccine against malaria. He received his PhD in chemistry from Boston College in 2008, where his work focused on the development of new antibiotic compounds. In 2003, he completed his undergraduate work in chemistry at the University of Connecticut. Carl coaches JV boys’ soccer and baseball and lives in Annie Hall with his wife, science teacher Jolene Schuster. Dr. Jolene Schuster teaches biology, chemistry and marine science, serves as assistant coach of the girls’ cross country and track teams, and does dorm duty in Annie Hall. Jolene completed her undergraduate work in chemistry and biology at Penn State University’s Behrend College in 2004 and received a PhD in bioinorganic chemistry from Dartmouth College in 2009. Prior to coming to Blair, she worked as a graduate assistant in Dartmouth’s chemistry department and completed several postdoctoral research projects at the University of Potsdam in Germany and at Wellesley College in Massachusetts. Jolene lives in Annie Hall with her husband, science teacher Carl Christianson.
Language Spanish teacher Joyce Lang completed her undergraduate work in Spanish literature at the University of Virginia in 1986 and has since completed coursework toward a master’s degree in education at New Jersey City University. Prior to coming to Blair, she was a substitute teacher at the American School of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, a Spanish teacher at Pope John XXIII High School in Sparta, N.J., and a freelance reporter and photographer at publications in northwestern New Jersey. Joyce lives off campus in nearby Sparta, N.J.
