BARRY EDWARD CROGHAN
GORDON SCOTT
With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Barry on November 10th. He passed away peacefully at home in Campbell River with family at his side. Predeceased by his parents Milton (1983) and Dorcas (2004), brother Jeffrey (2013) and sister Nora (2015). Survived by his loving wife Yvonne; children Hannah Clausen (Aaron), Collin (Ida Dick) and Jackson; stepchildren Santana Orel (Aaron Olsen), Veronica Avitan (Seth); his sisters and brothers Valerie, Milton (Fran), Shelley, Michael (Rhonda) of North Bay, Bonnie Stillert (John) Sault Ste. Marie; father-in-law George Knowles. Grandchildren that he loved deeply and brought him joy; Carson and Ethan Clausen, Arianna Dick, Kace, Kyla, Tyson and baby Olsen, Brooklyn and Sequoia Avitan. Barry had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews Kelly, Rob, Darla, Sheena, Misty, Shelley, Debra, Dawna and Patricia; great nieces and nephews Amanda, Aylana, Bree, Abey, Ruby, Elise, Owain, Jordan, Mitchel, Aubrey, Jaden, Nicholas, Liam and baby Sabourin. Barry loved living in Campbell River but never forgot his family and friends in Ontario. He was a big huggy bear, just like his nickname, and loved each and everyone unconditionally. He always had a sparkle in his eye for his wife Yvonne with whom he found true love and happiness. His great sense of humour matched hers and they were the dynamic duo. In his spare time he was an avid fisherman, always chasing the big one that got away. He loved relaxing in his back yard with family and friends and called it a little piece of heaven. This man, with the big heart and love for everything and everyone around him, will be dearly missed. Special thanks to Barry’s sister Shelley who played a major role in fulfilling his wish to be at home, his niece Debra who came up countless times from Victoria to help care for him, Dr. James Grace, River City Medical staff, Home Support Nursing Team, the staff at CR Hospital 3 North and his loving friends who came to visit him. As per his wishes, there will not be a service or celebration of life. A private family burial will be held in North Bay, Ontario in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations to the “Heart & Stroke Foundation or the “Lung Association would be appreciated. We love you and will miss you “Bear
