The MV Tenaka was called in to rescue a boat Wednesday. The Tenaka is the BC Ferry that sails between Quadra Island and Cortes Island. Shortly after 3 p.m., the Coast Guard called the captain on the Tenaka and requested their assistance with a 24 foot vessel in distress near Viner Point on Read Island. The vessel’s engine was reported to be overheating and the two passengers were afraid they were going to go on the rocks near Viner Point. The ferry launched a zodiac rescue boat and towed the pleasure craft
