It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Martha Kublik on April 17th, 2014 in the Lions Gate Hospital, North Vancouver, B.C. at the age of 92 years.
Martha was born in Poland, immigrated to Canada and moved to Vernon where she married Albert Kublik and had her son, Harry. Martha enjoyed aƩending the Vernon Full Gospel Tabernacle, gardening, baking and being around her family and friends. She was always a very gracious and hospitable woman.

Martha will be lovingly remembered by her son, Harry (Ann) Kublik; two sisters, Freda Wirch and Ruth Rae; two brothers, Lucian (Herta) Egert and Eugene (Jean) Egert; and numerous extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Kublik; two sisters, Ella Tischer and Lydia Saitz; and one brother, Gerhard Egert.

was born on December 3rd, 1921 and passed away on April 13th, 2014 at the age of 92 years. Gladys will be lovingly remembered by two sons, Don (Judy) and Gary (Sharon); six grandchildren, Jody (Steve), Dawn, Layne (Stephanie), Troy (Dinora), Jaade (Andrea) and Judd (Naomi); Įve greatgrandchildren, Quinten, Diane, Louis, Kiara and Saage; two sisters, Hazel Docksteader and Doreen (Jerry) ThauveƩe; three brothers, Ken Cox, Harold Cox and Ron Cox; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Cox and Walter (Shorty) Cox; and one sister, Evelyn SaƩerthwaite. Gladys will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may forward donaƟons in memory of Martha to the charity of their choice rather than sending Ňowers.
Gladys was born in Vernon, one of nine children born to Yvonne and Hugh Cox. In her early years she lived in Lumby and was well known for delivering milk to homes there. Later on she worked at the Vernon Packing House and then when Consumer’s Glass opened in Lavington she got a job there and remained with that company for many years. Gladys loved her family very much and enjoyed spending Ɵme with her grandchildren. She had a special love for birds and dogs and later in life she took up the creaƟve art of ceramics. Her family and friends were the recipients of many of her giŌs of love over the years as she pursued this hobby.

In 2008 Gladys became a resident of Polson North Extended Care Unit where she was loved and excepƟonally cared for. The family will always be grateful for the years of special care Gladys received from all the staī there.
The Funeral Service will be held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Monday, April 28th, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Wilf Burger oĸciaƟng. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. At the conclusion of the Graveside Service family and friends will gather for a RecepƟon in the Bethel Tea Room.

May 4, 1962 – April 20, 2014 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Neil Hallas following a brief illness. He passed away peacefully at age 51 with his loving wife by his side. Neil was born May 4, 1962 to Ken and Hazel Hallas in Montreal, YC. He was a very popular and acƟve child in hockey and skiing, and would always put on a diving or waterskiing display at the coƩage. Neil had a Ňair for the arts as a painter and arƟst as well as a keen ear and passion for music and enjoyed spreading this joy to others, passing on his love of music to his children. He also had a love of animals and rescued too many to count over the years! Neil moved to Vernon in 1998 where he married his best friend Michelle in 2001. He was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed taking his family on many adventures. He felt lucky to live here and loved the Okanagan. He was the best Daddy anyone could ever ask for and spent countless hours taking his children out to play and explore. Neil’s posiƟve aƫtude about all the challenges in his life inspired those around him. He truly lived his life to the fullest and counted every day as a blessing. He was a kind and sensiƟve man who was always able to think of others above himself and no maƩer what challenges he faced, he always believed he was lucky and things could always be worse. Neil will be deeply missed by his wife of 13 years Michelle, his children Keenan, Alex and Dylan, his brothers Ken, Ian and Craig (Tanya), and his mother in-law Diane Joly as well as many other relaƟves and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Ken and Hazel Hallas and his father in-law Ivan Joly.
