Storytelling series celebrates Canadian poet and performer This year marks 100 years since the passing of Canadian poet and performer, Pauline Johnson, and a performance will celebrate the figure at the McMillan Arts Centre November 22. The performance is part of the Tales for the Telling series. The series has been very successful, introducing storytelling for adults to the Oceanside area. This

month will bring well-known storyteller from Nanaimo Margaret Murphy performing her acclaimed storytelling show, Double Life: The Story of E. Pauline Johnson, accompanied by singer and guitar player Sue Averill. Pauline Johnson was of dual heritage: Mohawk and English. From 1892-1909, Johnson performed her own stories, poems and plays across Canada, the United
