Recycle now ...and save! W

aste reduction in the Ashcroft area has taken on a whole new look in recent years. Residents throughout the region are able to recycle using the easy and convenient “Recycle Now and Save!” program. For all household recycling, please ensure that your recyclables are contained in a clear blue bag. This program gives community residents the opportunity to do their part in pollution reduction and overall waste management -- while saving precious space in our landfill and conserving natural resources. Using the blue bag recycling progam is easy and it will help you save. The more you recycle the less garbage you will have, and the less you will pay for garbage disposal!

ot something to get rid of? Want to find something free or really cheap? Then check out our new TNRD Reuses web site at www.tnrdreuses.com for listings of items, like old furniture or appliances, for swap or sale, as well as garage sales. The TNRD has partnered with the Recycling Council of British Columbia (RCBC) to host this new web site where you can list these items online instead of sending them to the local landfill or transfer station. Or look for something you need! The web site also has a handy directory of where to take other unwanted items locally and across BC. The TNRD Reuses program is one of the many services that was developed in response to comments received at the 13 open houses held as part of the Regional Solid Waste Management Plan review — to provide more local, easy-toaccess options for reuse and a central location for information on recycling.
