Every county in the state has its own office that issues tags for vehicles, boats, trailers and other vehicles that are required to be registered. Some give the written and road test for a driver’s license; others also have driver license division offices, but they are for license renewals or replacements only. Some are only open certain days of the week. Some offices have Saturday hours as well. We have listed days and times at publication, but please check first for possible changes. Please note that a first-time Alabama driver’s license has to be obtained at an Alabama Law Enforcement Agency location. Contact your county’s driver license office for further information.
