Connect Well Hull is a part of Citizens Advice Hull & East Riding. We offer advice, support, and provide links to community groups, services, and activities that could help you make positive changes or just improve how you feel.
Social Prescribing
Our Wellbeing Co-ordinators can assist you to access support and guidance including groups where you can try new things to help with socialising, creative and cultural activities, fitness and health related activities or sports. Social Prescribing could be useful for anyone, but especially so for • New parents, or newly single parents • People who would like to be fitter, healthier, more active, have more to do, get out and about more, or just have more fun • Newly retired or redundant, or long term unemployed people, particularly those with limited social groups, low mood, low level depression or anxiety, or those lacking confidence • People who have been bereaved or separated, causing them to change their social patterns, or reassess their needs to socialise or seek support and interests. • People who are struggling to make positive steps in employment, development, or towards life goals • People with either recent or long-term health conditions, learning disabilities, additional support needs, or disabilities who would benefit from the community supports listed opposite to go alongside any social care or medical support being received. • Young people (over 16) who are struggling socially, or not in education, employment or training, or are leaving supported accommodation or care • Older people who may no longer be working, or may no longer be able to undertake activities they once enjoyed. • Anyone who: is bored, lonely, isolated, lacks confidence or local knowledge, has low mood, low level depression or anxiety, or is intimidated or overwhelmed by the idea of making changes and taking new steps...


What our Wellbeing Co-ordinators find for each client is different, and is entirely tailored to their individual needs, but it could include activities, community groups, or services including • Health- weight loss, smoking cessation, nutrition • Lifestyle- yoga, Pilates, meditation, • Fitness- accessible all levels sport and physical recreation including specialised groups for parents, or supporting specified health conditions. • Hobbies- craft, recreation, art, drama, music • Employability, volunteering or personal development: IT, languages, employability support, volunteering opportunities, adult education, functional skills • Social- group activities, clubs, socialising, community centres, support groups focused on parents, specified age groups, or specified health conditions • Support- facilities and support groups for parents, specified age groups, or for support with specified health conditions.
Welfare Advice
We also offer Welfare Advice, and our Welfare Advisers can offer advice on Debt, Benefits, Housing, Employment, Family and relationship matters, Immigration, and Consumer issues.
We offer support via pre-booked appointments at community buildings across Hull
Who we can help:
Connect Well Hull can see anyone over 16 who either • lives in Hull (regardless of GP registration) • or is registered with a GP in Hull (regardless of home address)
Things we cannot help with:
Applications or assessments relating to social care (adaptations, personal care services), practical services such as removals or house clearance, wheelchairs, crutches, any medical support or similar- we would direct all such enquiries to the clients’ medical specialist or GP, Connect to Support, or Social Services as appropriate.
