For 2012 BIC Sport is launching a new range of surf boards, the SUPERFROG. Designed by top class shapers, they’re made with a new light weight Epoxy/fibreglass laminated polystyrene core. This technique differs from the more traditional polyester/ fibreglass around a polyurethane core by being much lighter and having vastly superior mechanical qualities, delivering a much better feel on the water.
Egg / Fish 2 x EGG boards and a FISH make up the short board part of the new SUPERFROG collection. The EGGS are designed for surfing in the smallest waves. Their relatively thick profile and comfortable width make them ideal for bigger and more experienced surfers to ride in light surf. But they’re also great fun for intermediate/lighter weight riders in any kind of conditions. 5’8’’ : short and wide, the 5’8’’ Egg has been shaped to let you surf even the smallest waves. The thin, rounded tail plus the concave V-finished hull give the board dynamic responsiveness. Going hard in soft surf is exactly what it likes ! 6’2’’ : this board is designed for riders looking for great fun and good progression. Its generous volume and rounded shape give it a really easy take-off. Its flat rocker gives it excellent glide allowing you to surf in your natural style without forcing. 6’0’’ FISH : A classic shape that has endured since the 70s, this is also the must-have weapon for light surf. It was designed for surfers who like riding smaller waves but who don’t want to move on to a Mini-Malibu or Longboard. Its tight rocker line and wide rear section give it excellent forward speed. The swallow tail gives it amazing carve, even in the tightest turns, despite its relative width. Can be configured for tri-fin (thruster) or old-school twinzer fin set-up.
Hydro Fish Four Peter Hosking signature shapes make up this range that combines versatility with performance. From 6'0" to 7'0" (for each size of rider a board to suit !), the Hydro Fish are for riders looking for a board that's shorter than a longboard or mini-mal, without dropping down to a shortboard. The Hydro Fish have enough volume for an easy take-off, good manoeuvrability and board speed. They're fitted with FCS Thruster M5 fins, and come with two extra fins for riding a Quad configuration.
Longboard The completely new Superfrog longboard series is a cocktail of traditional shapes and more modern ideas. They have all been shaped by Gérard Dabbadie. The 8’2’’ is a compact, versatile, high performance board that combines tradition and modern thinking, with its swallow tail and subtle wingers. In the same spirit, the 9’ has a more classic overall style combined with some more modern touches that give the board excellent glide and you an easy ride. The 9’2’’ sits squarely in the longboard tradition, its classic lines giving you a «pure longboard» ride including knee-drop turns and other noseriding moves.
