WOMEN’S GUILD–Billy Crystal was awarded the Hollywood Icon Award at this year’s Women's Guild Cedars-Sinai Supper Club gala held at The Beverly Hilton. The Tony and Emmy Award-winning comedian, actor, producer, director and philanthropist joined the ranks of past recipients Wendy and Leonard Goldberg, Lauren Shuler and Richard Donner, Fay and Frank Mancuso, Judy and Bernard Briskin, Dr. Bruce Gewertz, Dr. Ed Phillips, and Vera and Paul Guerin. Jay Leno presented him the award at the gala event, which was attended by over 700 people. Emceed by Kevin Nealon, the event included an opening act by The MoonRays, a special musical performance by Rita Wilson, and a live auction and raffle by auctioneer Viveca Paulin-Ferrell that raised nearly $1.25 million for the Women’s Guild Simulation Center for Advanced Clinical Skills. “Cedars-Sinai has been an important part of all our lives,” remarked Crystal. “To think that I have had a part in raising money that helped the Simulation Center grow from being a simulated simulation to a real simulation is heartening and yes, humbling. Your work has created one of the great medical marvels of our country.” Pictured above (from left): Allison Druyanoff, Barbara Herman, Rita Wilson, Gina Furth, Jay Leno, Cookie Markowitz, Billy and Janice Crystal.
