An insight into Rossett Hall Hotel: Where history meets modern hospitality
From 18th-century roots to awardwinning events and weddings, Rossett Hall continues to thrive under the Everbright Hotel Group.
Nestled in the heart of a prime location in a charming village location, Rossett Hall is perfectly positioned midway between the historic city of Chester and the vibrant, fast-growing city of Wrexham - now internationally recognised around the world thanks to the celebrity owners of Wrexham AFC. Excellent road links to North Wales and the North West makes it relaxing retreat and a convenient base for business and leisure.
But Rossett Hall’s appeal goes far deeper than geography. A striking Georgian house dating back to 1750, the property is steeped in history, with fascinating links to Lord Horatio Nelson and former Prime Minister William Gladstone. This distinguished heritage gives the hotel a unique sense of character that still resonates with guests today.
A reputation for excellence
Now offering 51 bedrooms and proudly holding a Visit Wales 4-star accreditation, Rossett Hall Hotel has become synonymous with exceptional service. It has built a reputation not just as a welcoming place to stay, but as one of the region’s most sought-after wedding venues.
The hotel’s elegant spaces, combined with a dedicated events team, make it a natural choice for couples locally and from further afield.
Business meets heritage
While weddings remain at the heart of Rossett Hall’s reputation, the hotel has also become a well-regarded destination for business and events. With three versatile conference and function rooms, it caters to everything from intimate board meetings to large-scale corporate gatherings.
The largest space, the Allington Suite, can host up to 120 guests and is often booked for conferences, gala dinners, and private celebrations. This summer also saw the launch of a new purpose-built Boardroom, offering a contemporary, state-of-the-art space for executive meetings.
Andrew Plimmer, Group Development & Communications Manager for Everbright Hotel Group, explains:
“We’re proud that Rossett Hall is now firmly established as a hub for both leisure and business. The new Boardroom reflects our commitment to continuous investment, ensuring we can meet the needs of today’s guests while respecting the heritage of the building.”
Dining reimagined
Hospitality at Rossett Hall extends well beyond its bedrooms and event spaces.
Dining has been given a fresh focus with the relaunch of Oscars Restaurant, led by new Restaurant Manager, Leslie OsborneFord. A much-loved part of the hotel’s identity, Oscars is being reinvigorated with an emphasis on quality cuisine in stylish, welcoming surroundings.
“Oscars is about creating an experience,” Leslie commented. “It’s not just about great food, but about making people feel at home – whether they’re hotel guests or part of the local community”, he continued.
This renewed vision promises to reestablish Oscars as a highlight for both hotel guests and the wider local community.
Part of a growing legacy Rossett Hall holds a special place within the Everbright Hotel Group - it was the company’s first acquisition and remains central to its story. Since then, Everbright has expanded its portfolio across North Wales and the Lake District, with properties including the Wild Pheasant Hotel & Spa in Llangollen, The Llandudno Bay Hotel, The Belmont Hotel, The George Hotel in Penrith, and Stonecross Manor in Kendal.
Each property reflects the Group’s ethos: blending historic charm with modern hospitality. In Kendal, Stonecross Manor is nearing completion of a year-long refurbishment, ensuring it remains a cornerstone of the local community.
Andrew notes: “Everbright’s mission has always been to protect the heritage of historic hotels while breathing new life into them. Rossett Hall is a perfect example of how tradition and modern hospitality can come together to create something truly special.”
For Everbright, Rossett Hall is more than just a hotel – it’s a living example of how heritage properties can evolve to meet the needs of today’s guests without losing their soul.
