2-YEAR-OLD BULL SALE

1:30PM • WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 30, 2019 AT MOOSE CREEK RED ANGUS 3 M I L E S S O U T H & 1 M I L E E A S T of K I S B E Y, S A S K ATC H E WA N WELCOME to the 2019 Edition of the Moose Creek 2-Year-Old Bull Sale. It is with great anticipation that

we assemble this offering for sale. Our program is rooted in the commercial sector. We have always put more emphasis on easy fleshing, convenient, efficient cows that work in a minimal management system than the industry does. Vigorous, unsupervised births, all the way to hairy, sound, saleable calves at weaning defines our direction. The brood cow band must be able to accomplish this in a forage based, low cost environment. Ultimately, this is our advantage to other seedstock providers. The Red Angus pen is our largest and most consistent. The majority of the bulls are heifer approved, all the while supplying adequate growth and phenomenal maternal strength. The performance bulls offer the ability to sire heavy weight calves come fall without sacrificing the core values of easy keeping, stress free cattle. We have shrunk our Red SimmAngus group to not only improve them but were ruthless culling out the unpopular characteristics of the two breeds. These boys are massive, powerful, with a wonderful temperament. Easily the most impressive group you will find all sale season. Finally, our Charolais offering has grown, and will continue to grow.We have seen tremendous interest in the white bulls. The tan calves are the talk of the sale barns and rightfully so. As many producers are moving back to Char X calves, none of them want to give up the calving ease, vigor or peace of mind that they had before. Our Charolais herd is built with the May/June calver in mind. All of the bulls on offer have been responsibly developed. Fed lightly their first winter, the entire group was sent to pasture mid April and grazed without supplemental feed until late October. These bulls are not dry lotted feedlot steers. They are athletic, sound, hard muscled and in moderate shape. Please don’t come looking for “show bulls”; you’ll be very disappointed. As in the past, we will keep your bull until spring and deliver him to your yard. If you are apprehensive of purchasing a bull so far from home, please contact us and I know you’ll be shocked at how many of your neighbours we are already supplying genetics to. Our dear friends Jack & Dianne Wilson will be doing their smoked beef dinner and it’s worth the trip alone. Lunch will be served at high noon; come in your car, bring your family, let us take care of the rest.
