BALA TOWN RESERVES
Our Reserves welcomed Brymbo to Maes Tegid on the 22nd of February, to try and put things right after the previous fixture against Johnstown. The Reserves’ first game of the season saw them travel to Brymbo, where they picked up a point after the game finished 1-1.

The game started slowly, with the first talking point being a good switch by Darrell, who picked out Jack on the far side, but Jack miss-hit the his cross and goes out. Sloppy defensive play for the first goal, as Brymbo take the lead with less than 10 minutes gone. A tap in for the their Forward which gives Dion no chance in goal, 1-0 Brymbo! Llion then had a half chance minutes later, but his effort goes wide. It got worse for Bala on 20 minutes, as Brymbo doubled their lead. More poor defending, as Bala leave a man free in the box who heads into the net. 2-0 Brymbo! Llion then had another effort on target, but a deflection makes it easier for the keeper to gather. Sion Parry had to be subbed off with an injury, and on came Rob Woods in his place. Halftime came and it was looking bleak for Bala, but had a full half to make things right. The second half started, and within minutes Joe Ephraim and the Brymbo keeper were down injured after a clashing into each other. Not long after the stoppage, Joe Ephraim came off for Barry Jones. On 65 minutes Darrell whips a ball into the box, but can’t direct his header towards goal. With Bala not taking their chances, Brymbo made them pay, as they went and scored their 3rd of the afternoon. Another tap in from a corner, as the ball runs through the middle of the box, and a Brymbo player taps in for 3. Ben Roberts made his debut for the club, as he replaced Gwion Thomas. Darrell Johns had a free kick on 75 minutes to try and salvage something, but his effort went just over. With 10 minutes remaining, Jack Jarvis had an shot on goal, but rebounded off the post and went out. The game was all but over, with minutes remaining, Brymbo make it 4-0. Just on the edge of the box, the Brymbo player takes a shot, which goes under Dion’s arm and into the net. A damaging afternoon for the Reserves. The fulltime whistle went, with Brymbo running out 4-0 winners.
