Set a ball and your putter so the heel of the club is just outside of the wood.*
As you make your putting stroke, focus on the heel of your putter staying aligned with the wood on your backswing and follow-through.

If your putting stroke is more of an arc, set a ball and your putter so that the toe of your putter is just below the piece of wood (see image above).
If your putting stroke is too inside-out or outside-in, your putter will contact the wood.
This simple drill provides visual and physical feedback if your stroke moves off its intended path and also positively reinforces a correct path. Practicing with this drill will lead to improved path, better face angle, a more consistent putting stroke, and hopefully lower scores.
