In the case of the life sciences, ours is a journey of possibilities. Together we will look at what was, what is and what can be. It’s a matter of perspective. Lifesaving and life changing innovations follow a journey of their own from discovery, to development, to delivery. Each of these milestones is nuanced with its own set of opportunities, challenges and perspectives. Arizona is home to unique models that move these innovations forward and build on our past and present for a better tomorrow. WHAT WAS As the world entered a new century, Arizona leaders were focusing on a strategy where we would build up our bioscience sector using our universities, healthcare systems and resident life science companies as a foundation to create a top tier bioindustry. The result would be more high-quality jobs, exciting new
