SISTER CITY CELEBRATION

In November, a delegation from Yamanashi City, Japan, visited to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of its sister city relationship with Sioux City. Over the past two decades, representatives from both cities have traveled to share strengths, exchange ideas, and learn about their unique cultures.

This year’s visit took delegates to Jolly Time Popcorn, Morningside University, Sioux City Art Center, Sioux City Career Academy, Sioux City Public Library, Sioux City Public Museum, Sioux City Police Department, and Western Iowa Tech Community College. Sioux City also has sister city partnerships with Lake Charles, La., and Gjilan, Kosovo.
