Avalon Park Arts & Culture Center Expanding to Include Performing Arts

Live musical performances of all genres are set to be featured at the arts center beginning Summer 2022

The Avalon Park Arts and Culture Center opened last month in Downtown Avalon Park Orlando, and this summer they are expanding to include the performing arts with a variety of events showcasing local talent.

The vision for the Avalon Park Arts and Culture Center (ACC) is to provide a place where all mediums and disciplines of art have a space to showcase their talents of all levels with the community. Currently the ACC is featuring visual arts from local schools, artists, and cultural organizations. Expanding to include the performing arts opens the chance to showcase even more.

Starting this July, the ACC is partnering with the Avalon School of Music to host live musical performances from their students, providing an opportunity to share creative expression through the performing arts. Each month will feature a different teacher and their students from the Avalon School of Music. The series will kick off on Saturday, July 9th at 7 pm and will be hosted by Artemis Otaiza.

“I’m excited for the students to showcase their talents to the community!” said Paolo Tursi, Director of Avalon School of Music. “Performing arts is an important form of art too and having a space dedicated for that to display is special to Avalon Park.”

Broadening the types of art that are at the ACC gives even more groups and individuals a place to collaborate, display and experience all mediums of art.

To celebrate the addition of the performing arts, the ACC will be hosting a meet and greet with the stellar voices from Opera Orlando on June 24th. Guests and patrons of the ACC will hear selections from their season and learn all about Opera Orlando special events and educational programs. “The Arts Center adding performing arts allows even more Central Florida talent to be displayed,” said Gabriel Preisser, General Director of Opera Orlando. “With our opera season coming up, we’re thrilled to meet aspiring performers in Avalon Park and beyond.”

“Adding performing arts to the Arts and Culture Center was a vital part to continue to build this community,” said Stephanie Lerret, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Community Relations for Avalon Park Group. “There are so many people with talent in this area and we want to create a space for everyone to build a platform for themselves.”

The Avalon Park Arts and Culture Center is located in the heart of Downtown Avalon Park and allows schools, artists and organizations to showcase their diverse works from all mediums.
