Unlisted Owner

ade with the help of friends and local acquaintances, the project was a maze of organization and scheduling, shot primarily on the weekends to accommodate the cast. But the challenging circumstances never derailed Brian, and the result of his determination is a truly frightening horror movie with plenty of comic relief. Filmed exclusively with hand-held digital cameras, the hyper-realistic, in-your-face footage recalls Blair Witch Project and the recent Grave Encounters. The story of Unlisted Owner centers around six friends who become just a little too interested in a local homicide after hearing a report on the radio. Arriving at the scene of the crime, they witness the body being carried out of a weathered home and loaded into an ambulance. Suddenly, a man appears and shares what initially seems like a ghost story: 15 years prior, in that very home, a jilted husband burned himself and his family alive. Mysteriously, the husband’s body was never recovered. Unsettled by the macabre possibilities, the friends resolve to uncover the truth – with dire consequences. Unlisted Owner recently premiered at the Fortnightly building in Vincennes. Director

Jed Brian spoke with News4U ahead of the viewing.

N4U: What horror directors have inspired you? JB: Eli Roth, who directed the Hostel franchise and Cabin Fever is probably my favorite out of all of them. But I also have a lot of respect for the legends like John Carpenter and Alfred Hitchcock. N4U: What do you hope to achieve with Unlisted Owner? JB: My ultimate goal is to get a theatrical release. But this is my first film, so if I can at least get someone to pick it up and release it direct-to-DVD or if I can get on Netflix – I’d be happy either way. But we’re going to aim for the top on this one and see what we can get attention-wise.

News4U (N4U): When did you first get interested in making films? Jed Brian (JB): In 2008, I wrote a script for a horror film called Meth House,, but I didn’t have the funding or the resources to get it made. With Unlisted Owner,, I was able to secure the help that I needed – from the actors to local fire fighters and policemen.
