ATLANTA FILM FESTIVAL April 4-14 Discover over 200 new independent, international, animated, documentary and short films and attend over 40 panels and talks that dive into the world of cinema at this 10-day event, one of only two dozen Academy Award-qualifying festivals in the country. www.atlantafilmfestival.com

GEORGIA RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL April 14-June 3 Travel back to 16th century England courtesy of this 32-acre village in Fairburn, filled with over 150 artisan craft shops, 10 entertainment stages, pubs, carnival games, and all the giant roasted turkey legs you can eat. www.garenfest.com
