Asif Choudhury

Dr. Asif Choudhury is a former Interventional Gastroenterologist with over two decades of experience in patient care and clinical leadership. He served as Section Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology at Lee Memorial Health System in Fort Myers, Florida, where he led the department for six years and played a pivotal role in advancing digestive care services. Trained across the U.S., Bangladesh, and Germany, Dr. Choudhury brought a global perspective to his work, completing advanced training at the Mayo Clinic and under world-renowned specialists in interventional endoscopy. From 2000 to 2017, Dr. Choudhury built a high-volume clinical practice, becoming known for his expertise in ERCP and the placement of esophageal stents and gastrostomy tubes for patients with complex gastrointestinal and oncologic conditions. His technical skill was matched by a deep commitment to compassionate care—particularly for underserved populations. For over 20 years, he regularly provided free medical consultations and support to uninsured patients, both in formal clinical settings and through community outreach at his local mosque.
