Jeff Cooper is a renaissance man. Although his family has deep roots in North Carolina, leading all the way back to the Revolutionary war, he grew up in Louisiana. In 1978, he and a colleague were sitting around and talking about how they should distill their own whisky. He was working in the Oil & Gas industry at the time as a consultant, and he moved a year later and lost touch with him.
