The judges were overly impressed with the indoor concrete pool, as well as the home being externally clad with ironbark battens. Internally the building utilized blackbutt lining. Sam Reynolds was acknowledged for his degree of professionalism in construction.

FOLEY CONSTRUCTION The Boardwalk House, Lennox Head Phone: 0412 664 660 Design: Harley Graham Architects Dave Foley stated that this build was like building a fullsized ship in a bottle. Extensive use off form concrete is a major feature with this building. The judges highly praised Dave for the extra yards he went to complete the building. The build was made even more difficult as cranes were not permitted to be used on site due to adjoining property owners’ concerns. Micro ducted air conditioning had to be installed due to minimal ceiling cavities. The judges were impressed with the Chevron pattern, hand sanded internal doors hung on fully concealed hinges. The striking cantilevered concrete slab over the pool has to be seen to be believed.
