host to all the swimming events and water polo championships during the Olympic Games, and will be used by competitors during the Paralympic Games too. The pools, which have been utilised in previous Olympic Games, including London 2012, will be permanently installed in nearby Seine Saint-Denis

Championing its off-site approach to construction, the Myrtha Pools team was able to effectively deliver the installation of the pools in just over 5 weeks through its modular wall system. This included the use of 47 tonnes of Myrtha Pools’ patented stainless steel components and 450 metres of microperforated pipes for the Myrtha Breathe system, which aims to improve air and water quality through the removal of harmful by-products such as chloramines and halomethanes. Roberto Colletto, CEO at Myrtha Pools said: “As an Official Supporter of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, we’re very proud to install our pools at the Paris La Défense Arena. This is a great
chance to showcase our expertise to the world. “Our advanced technology and materials enabled us to meet the 36-day challenge, ensuring the best experience for athletes and spectators. Additionally, ensuring that our pools can sustainably benefit communities is crucial to us, since a central mission of Myrtha Pools is to provide aquatic opportunities for all.” Myrtha’s temporary system contributes sustainably to the Paris 2024 project, delivering 50% savings on CO2 emissions compared to traditional concrete construction methods, while 100% of the flooring membrane will be recycled after the competition.
