Finetco Makes a Long-Term Investment to A Wish Come True, Inc.

Bill Finnegan and his family have been giving back to their community for decades. They recently announced a new partnership with A Wish Come True, Inc., that includes new space and a very generous investment in their future. AWCT will be moving into the Finetco office location at 6 Jefferson Dr. in Coventry, Rhode Island. (their former location was 1010 Warwick Ave, Warwick.) “We outgrew our office space on Warwick Avenue, and the Finnegan’s have a more suitable facility,” said Executive Director Mary-Kate O’Leary. “They also have incredible space available for future growth, for an indoor and outdoor area to host Wish Families and events. We need a prominent ‘headquarters,’ and this building accomplishes those needs,” said O’Leary. Five staff will be moving to the new location. A Wish Come True’s goal is to expand within a 50mile radius of their new office location, which will allow them to grow further towards Worcester in (Massachusetts), and eventually into Connecticut.

Bill Finnegan, President and CEO of Finetco, joined the A Wish Come True Board of Directors in 2021. He is a major donor of Providence College Men’s Basketball and was connected to A Wish Come True by Steve Napolillo, the athletic director of Providence College. Bill came out of the gate thinking differently. He wanted his three sons—Sean, Ryan, and Evan— to serve on the Board, as Board Associates, gaining experience with nonprofits. Although the Finnegan’s have one vote on the Board, they are all very active in all the committees and events held by A Wish Come True.
Finetco owns West Haven Lumber in West Haven, Connecticut, and there is potential office space available, if needed. A Wish Come True will also seek office space in Fall River, MA.

Bill is known for asking lots of questions and is always looking out for the best interests of A Wish Come True,” stated Colleen Duffy, Board Chairwoman. “He sits on several Committees, including Finance, Investment, and Fundraising. Having his three sons on the Board has also been wonderful, as they all bring a different perspective to our business.”
