Billy ‘V’ Vigeant Ordinary Guy Doing Extraordinary Things

e term, “ordinary,” doesn’t even begin to describe the nature of Billy ‘V’ Vigeant. After receiving the shocking diagnosis of Cholangiocarcinoma liver cancer, an incurable deadly disease, in 2019, Billy ‘V’, as he is best known, found himself down, but, in no way, out. In spite of his medical diagnosis, this Johnston, RI, native, without question, possesses the type of drive that prevents him from never ever giving up, and instead, he is putting all of his energy and e orts into making a di erence by leaving behind a legacy in writing a book about his life, called “LEGENDARY SPEAKING,” written by accomplished author Joseph Broadmeadow.

is book will cover Billy’s humble beginnings through his trials and tribulations to his breakthrough into radio, television, and also his acting career. Billy has interviewed and worked with over 350 celebrity athletes and entertainers throughout his career. Billy received the national award for his interview with Bill Russell called the Communicator Award, has his own Rhode Island day named after him, “BILLY V DAY,” December 19, 1994, is inducted into the Silver Lake Olneyville Baseball Hall of Fame, and was also chosen by Shop In RI as Rhode Islander of the Year, just to name a few of his many accolades. His motto, “Test Yourself,” has been his testament throughout his entire life. Billy is CEO of Good Sports and Entertainment, a National Sports Marketing Company. Not only is he a former award winning sports radio talk show host, Billy ‘V’ is accomplished in various ventures, including his most recent endeavors that come in a variety of forms - LaSalle Academy gave Billy his foundation of values and principles to live by that would carry him throughout his life and career, both personal and professional and led him to be successful in the sports and entertainment industries, to the development of a foundation that will honor a time that he refers to as “the best days of his life” - when he was a competitive, talented football player and a 1977 graduate of LaSalle Academy in Providence, Rhode Island.

e Billy ‘V’ Scholarship Foundation is something that Billy has thought about creating since receiving his diagnosis, and then, re ecting on his life. e annual scholarships from the foundation are his way of giving back to society by awarding young men and women of his alma mater, who, like Billy, value hard work, and as a result, excel in their studies, as well as outside of school. e scholarships will also require eligible students to participate in sports and be a contributor to the public via community service. To accomplish the goals of the foundation, Billy has been working aside a dedicated team of professionals so as to acquire duciary donations that will lead to a culminating endowment goal of $1 million in the foundation. By creating this foundation, Billy’s principles and values will leave a legacy for years to come.

roughout his life, Billy has developed a tremendous number of friendships with people who continue to be supportive and have been vitally instrumental in helping him attain his

dream of leaving behind legacies. John Ponte, CEO of Greenwich Business Capital, was the rst contributor to his foundation and continues to be Billy’s closest friend and con dante, as he supports Billy’s e ort to achieve his life goal of creating an endowment legacy.

John and Billy are forever uni ed in the foundation, with John giving a very generous donation in the amount of $10,000, a gesture for which Billy expresses his love and most sincere appreciation. ere are numerous others who have given an exorbitant amount of time, energy, and monetary gifts to the foundation on behalf of Billy, all to whom he is also extremely grateful. As he would agree, the creation of the foundation has truly been a team e ort and one that will ful ll his dream.

Billy’s book, LEGENDARY SPEAKING, is scheduled to be released on September 10th, 2021 - Legendary Speaking will entertain readers of all ages, as Billy ‘V’ tells the story of his life, how, and where it all began. e book will depict 35 years of extraordinary success with legends of sports and entertainment, as Billy tells of his exclusive interviews via radio and television of more than 300 iconic entertainers, as well as Hall of Fame sports gures such as Yogi Berra, Bill Russell, Dick Butkus, Jim McMahon, and so many more. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the book will go to the BILLY V SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION, which bene ts two (2) potential students to attend LaSalle Academy.

Another of Billy’s many endeavors is as a well-known lm actor, appearing in over 26 movies and weekly television series. e book provides a rsthand account of how he started in the movie business, working alongside some of the most renowned Academy Award-winning actors such as Christian Bale, Horror icon Tony Todd, Oscarnominated actor Eric Roberts, and Academy Awardwinning actor Denzel Washington, to name just a few.

In order to endow the foundation, Billy has tapped into a variety of avenues, from book signings and dinners with professional athletes to entertainment engagements and promotions. ere will be a major kick o and book signing on September 10th, 2021.

Not only is he conquering everything he has set out to accomplish, Billy ‘V’ has not allowed his di cult diagnosis to slow him down. In fact, his persistence and drive have enabled him to plow forward, as he reveals the generosity and determination that live in his heart and soul.
