Welcome to St Aidan’s

Welcome to

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to St Aidan’s House. I hope that you will find that this is an environment where you can flourish and be your best academically, spiritually, personally and physically.

Along with the fantastic house team, I aim to provide a warm and welcoming home from home, where you feel happy, secure and cared for, so that you can thrive and maximise your potential; a place where you can truly be yourself and know the special part you play as a member of a community of which the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. I want you to believe that you can make a difference and live for a higher purpose, using your unique talents and qualities.

This handbook will provide you with a little background to the house. I’m conscious of ‘information overload’, so have mainly included the most essential or helpful pointers as you prepare to join us. Of course, there’ll be lots more that we will ‘drip-feed’ at appropriate points during your first weeks in the house. If you have any particular queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I am delighted that you have chosen St Aidan’s to be your home for the duration of your time at Ampleforth and am very much looking forward to you joining us.

With prayers and very best wishes,

Mrs Ceri Dent
