Gamma Delta Fraternity is pleased to announce the installation of Lambda Alpha-St. Joseph’s College, Long Island and Lambda Beta-St. Joseph’s College, Brooklyn on Saturday, May 5, 2012. These chapters are the 187th and 188th installed chapters of Alpha Gamma Delta. St. Joseph’s College has two campuses—Brooklyn and Long Island (Patchogue). Each campus will operate as its own collegiate chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta. Collegians from Zeta Tau-Seton Hall University served as members of the initiating team. Liz Harriss York, International Vice President-Extension, served as the Installing Officer. “It was a privilege for me to be able to install two new chapters, continuing Alpha Gamma Delta’s growth in the fraternal community,” said Liz said. “These energetic young women are sure to make an impact in not only their local community, but also in the greater world.”

St. Joseph’s College is a private institution located in one of the nation’s most diversified academic and cultural areas. St. Joseph’s educates over 5,000 undergraduates, with more than 1,000 on the Brooklyn campus and close to 4,000 on the Long Island campus. The university offers more than 23 undergraduate majors, pre-professional and certificate programs. Leadership Consultants Ashley Lamphier and Maria Carbenia assisted both of the chapters throughout their colony period. They will continue to be a support to the chapters in their second year of traveling. “Working with the colony at St. Joseph’s was an amazing experience. I am honored to be a part of their journey,” Maria said. “They are a phenomenal group of women and great additions to the Alpha Gamma Delta sisterhood.
