Alex Ostrovsky
Alex Ostrovsky is a business executive, product strategist, and sales leader with a consistent record of driving growth and alignment across consumer goods and electrical manufacturing. He serves as Executive Director of Business and Product Development for Smart Fans at Modern Forms, where he leads strategy and execution for a complex, design-focused category in the smart home space. His path into consumer goods was intentional. Early in his career, Alex recognized that the core skills developed through legal training, including persuasion, negotiation, preparation, and accountability, applied directly to sales leadership and product management. He has always viewed sales not as a simple transaction, but as a system that connects customer demand, operational realities, and long-term brand value. Alexander Ostrovsky earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law at Indiana University. During law school, he served as President of the Criminal Law Association and competed on the trial team at a national competition in Chicago. He is licensed as an attorney in Indiana and later became a managing real estate broker. These experiences shaped how he evaluates risk, structures agreements, and navigates regulatory environments. Rather than remain in traditional legal practice, he chose to work closer to business decision-making. Alexander Ostrovsky of Indiana developed much of his commercial foundation at Fanimation Ceiling Fans, where he held roles as National Account Manager and National Sales Manager. He managed major national accounts, including Ferguson Enterprises, and directed e-commerce strategy across Amazon, Wayfair, Build.com, and specialty lighting retailers. He oversaw product lines from lifecycle planning to pricing strategy, inventory management, and competitive analysis, and created the company’s first national buying program to support measurable account growth.
