ENERGY EFFICIENCY FOR YOUR HOME

Co-op Energy Efficiency Program

Dixie’s Co-op Energy Efficiency Program is designed with you and your home in mind! Our energy efficiency offerings and services consist of a rebate program, a loan program, and a free home energy audit. The rebate and loan programs help our members manage the cost of installing energy efficient improvements in their homes. Our in-home energy audit will identify specific upgrades that could improve the efficiency of your home, which can save money and energy.

While there is value in practicing no-cost and low-cost measures, more extensive energy efficiency improvements can obviously make a bigger impact on your power bill. We understand that extensive improvements can be costly. This is why we offer programs like these to benefit your budget. Also, with tax time approaching, this could be an opportunity to put your refund to work for you! Consider using those funds to enhance the efficiency of your home, which could then reduce your energy costs every month. This would benefit not only your home and energy bill, but your future as well.

Home Energy Audit

If you are a Dixie member, you can take advantage of a free service we offer — an energy audit of your home. The in-home energy audit is the first step to determining how you can get the most efficiency possible out of your home. Along with the recommendations, our energy auditor will outline the program options that would best fit your needs. An energy audit can also help determine the source of any inconsistencies in your usage.

Suppose you get your monthly electric bill and you see it is almost $100 higher than normal. You do not see how this is possible because your living habits have not changed and the temperatures have not been extreme. Our auditor can come to your home to determine what may have caused this sudden increase in your bill.

You do not have to wait for a high bill to request an energy audit. If you suspect your home is not as energy efficient as it should be, we can inspect your home and make recommendations for improvements which could make your home more efficient and help save money on your monthly power bill. Energy Efficiency Loan

The Co-op Energy Efficiency Loan Program is designed to help members improve the energy efficiency and comfort of their homes. We have a low-interest loan option for financing energy-efficient home improvements. This loan option is financed through an agreement with Regions Bank, and you will make payments directly to Regions. Financing is dependent upon credit approval.

Rebate Program

The Co-op Energy Efficiency Rebate Program offers rebates for the installation of highefficiency dual-fuel or mini-split heat pumps as well as rebates for manufactured homes. Members can qualify for rebates up to $350 per ton depending on the efficiency of the heat pump. Whether you are purchasing a new manufactured home, or are already in an existing manufactured home, we have options available to meet your needs.

Purchasing a manufactured home?

If you are a Dixie member who currently owns a manufactured home or is in the market for this type of housing, we can help make your residence more energy efficient and reduce your heating costs by an average of $550 per year. Think of this savings as a way of treating yourself to an additional refund!

We are powering savings by offering incentives to upgrade electric furnaces to highefficiency heat pumps in new manufactured homes. If the manufactured home you are purchasing comes with an electric furnace, we will cover the difference to upgrade the furnace to a heat pump, at no additional cost to you. The difference will be paid directly to the dealer at the point of sale, without adding to the mortgage. When you upgrade, you’ll enjoy the comfort of a more efficient heating and cooling system while saving hundreds on your annual heating costs.

Heating costs for an electric furnace are about $750 per year. For an energy efficient heat pump, that cost is about $200 annually. That is a savings of about $550 per year! You’ll enjoy the comfort of a more efficient heating and cooling system while saving an average of $550 a year on heating costs.

Already in a manufactured home?

There are rebates available for an upgrade to your existing electric furnace! You can get a rebate of up to $400 per ton for replacing an electric furnace with a high-efficiency heat pump. In addition, you may qualify for low-interest financing. Plus, you’ll enjoy comfort and lower heating costs for years to come. This is one more way your cooperative is looking out for you by helping you save energy, time, and money for the more important things in your life!

The Co-op Energy Efficiency Program was created by your co-op for you, your home, and your life. Adding small or large upgrades to your home can make a big impact on your energy use and your monthly bill. The money you save can be used for better things like your family and your future. Making your future a priority is just another way we are always looking out for you.
