Cheryl Pouliot, 67, Addison ADDISON — Cheryl Ann (Newville) Pouliot, 67, passed away at home, Tuesday Sept. 5, 2017, after a long illness, with her family by her side. She was born June 17, 1950, in Vergennes, the daughter of Harry and Josephine (Jerome) Newville. Cheryl was a caring woman who always loved spending time with her family, putting them before herself; especially her grandchildren. She was not only their awesome grandma, but also their best friend. She was their biggest fan and very proud of them. She took pride in her gardening and enjoyed fishing throughout her life and spending time at Texas Falls. She is survived by her sons; Gene and his wife Joy Pouliot, and Denny Pouliot; her cherished grandchildren, Shay and Connor Pouliot; one brother, Barry Newville; several nieces and nephews; her longtime companion, Dick Denett; and dear friend and neighbor, Sandy Tatro. She was predeceased by her parents, two sisters and a nephew. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, Sept. 16, at 11 a.m.

RIPTON — Sadie P. Stowe, 68, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 6, 2017, at her home in Ripton. She was born February 28, 1949, in Middlebury, the daughter of Ralph and Helena (Lathrop) Peck. She was a graduate of Beeman Academy High School. Sadie was a member of the New Haven Congregational Church, where she was a former deacon and belonged to the choir; she was also a member of the D.A.R. and enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and crocheting. She is survived by her husband Robert A. Stowe, who she married June 16, 1968 in New Haven; by her sons, Jason Stowe and wife Jennifer of Pepperell, Mass., and

ORWELL — Charles “Chuck” Eddy III died peacefully in the arms of his loving wife, Mary Anne, September 1, 2017, at their home in Orwell. Chuck was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and moved to Connecticut with his parents, Charles F. and Nellie Bretz Eddy, as a young boy. Upon graduating from King School in Stamford, CT, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force, where he served as a bombardier of a B-24 in the South Pacific Theater in World War II. After receiving an honorable discharge at war’s end, he engaged in many endeavors, including boat building, lobstering, designing trays for Abercrombie and Fitch, before being accepted at Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio, where he majored in trumpet. Upon completing studies at Western Connecticut State University’s Music Department, he taught instrumental music at Wamogo High
School in Litchfield, CT. While at “WesCon” he met the love of his life for 65 years, Mary Anne Merrill. They had five children and made the life decision to raise their children in Vermont. Chuck, having had carpentry experience also, built their home out of lumber from their property, and as the years passed, and children married, he built homes for them, also, all in Orwell. He worked at the Salisbury State Fish Hatchery for several years before retiring. Surviving Chuck is his wife and his loving children and their spouses: Nell and Mike Ellis, Beth and Nick Montello, Tom and Ann Eddy, Chuck and Cathy Eddy, and daughter, Cathy Anne; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Box 754, Middlebury, VT 05753, in Chuck’s memory, for of Chuck’s life, allowing him to rest the professional, loving care hospice peacefully in the home he loved, people provided the last few weeks surrounded by his loving family. ◊
