Tracing our beginning back to Harker Underground, then Abergeldie Harker and now Abergeldie, we deliver complex infrastructure projects ranging from bridges, roads, rail, water and wastewater, pipeline rehabilitation and tunnelling.

Central Interceptor Project

Abergeldie is collaborating with joint venture partner Ghella to deliver Watercare’s Central Interceptor Project. This project will provide additional wastewater capacity to serve Auckland’s growing population while reducing the frequency and volume of wastewater overflows, preserving the area’s beaches, estuaries, and waterways. The Central Interceptor Project involves construction of a 14.7km long, 4.5m diameter underground tunnel from Grey Lynn to Māngere Wastewater Treatment Plant, for collecting and transferring wastewater. Once completed, the tunnel will be one of the longest in New Zealand.
