little since 2019. I’m pleased to say we have just booked our first trip, a week in the Gambia. We went many years ago and it is lovely. This time we are spending four nights in a very smart beachside hotel, then we go inland for three nights on a floating lodge on one of the rivers. Gambia is renowned for its bird life, so cameras at the ready… not that I’m any good!

The holiday of a lifetime

Early in this piece I referred to how to get rid of a lot of money in a negative way. How about this for spending a lot of money in a positive way? You could spend £40k per person on a holiday – and trust me, people do!

This looks like the trip of a lifetime. I have been to Morocco, South Africa and Zimbabwe –and Botswana and Victoria Falls was undoubtedly the best holiday I have ever had. The wildlife is absolutely amazing and there is so much of it. This trip goes to Chobe National Park and that is where one of the three lodges we went to is. Very, very nice.

If you truly want a holiday of a lifetime and fancy spending £80k for the two of you then treat yourself… I’m sure the kids won’t mind!
