Theme Park of Monsters

Theme Park of Monsters by Leo Pepin, age 8

Ididn’t like the look of the park but my body told me to move on. I kept walking. The window of the fun house looked like it would run off. A creepy music played as I walked closer. A monster jumped from the window then its light voice spoke, “What do you call red water?” I thought, then I noticed something. The answer dripped from the walls. The answer was blood. Then it spoke, “Okay, come in if you want to.” Then it walked away so I started walking to the fun house. Little puzzles were scattered around but they were fairly easy though. Then my vision showed me a path to where food was sold at fairs. It smelled instead of cotton candy like a corpse. Then a monster flipped. “Hi there walking so do you want to get eaten or solve my riddles?” I thought for a second then I decided that the monster’s riddle was to get eaten. I said, “For a weakling, fine, you’re pretty smart.”It was looking at me square in the eye. The rotten cotton candy I had to eat. I thought it was rotten. It was tasteless but something strange was up ahead. “Hi there, hope you’re not trying to do what I think you are.” He tilted his head from side to side as he talked. “Well, bye,” and he went away.
