Editor’s Note I heart Memphis: a phrase that echoes across our city. Lately, I have realized how lucky I am to have grown up in a city like Memphis because Memphis truly has it all, from sports leagues, exciting events, and most of all, people who care about the city as a whole. Memphis, itself, is growing and prospering because there are countless people who are striving to improve the city and attract newcomers. As high school students, we have a profusion of opportunities to grow and serve within our community, and I believe that it is important to take advantage of the fact that we are able to impact Memphis so member of 4Memphis Impact. I wanted to engage our youth community into the core of Memphis and open the eyes of my peers and fellow high schoolers to see beyond the realms of our own institutions and into the happenings of Memphis. phis monthly by writing articles about community in fashion shoots with local boutiques; featuring
fundraisers and events; highlighting high schoolers’ sports achievements; and providing beauty tips for a wide variety of occasions. Regardless of our the same goal of engaging the Memphis youth because, at some point, it will be our responsibility to keep Memphis thriving and improve it in all aspects of life. So why not start now? Whatever path you choose, I encourage you to make your experience in high school worthwhile by way of community engagement. If you are passionate about Memphis and want to instigate positivity in and around your school, you have ample opportunities want to see a change in the world around you, do it yourself, and encourage your friends to do it with you.
Again, Memphis is an amazing city, and we have countless modes to discover more about it. Putting future of our community, and that is the kind of cycle that we want to perpetrate from our high school community. Whether you choose to invest yourself in Memphis by volunteering locally, attending com4Memphis your engagement in the city will grant you an experience incomparable to any other.
