Welcome in the scary, dreamlike and stigmatized world of drugs. Let’s discover this whole atmosphere by some pictures. In this serie we will see 3 differents drugs : Weed, Ecstasy and Mushrooms. I offer you to make your own interpretation of these pictures.

The point of this serie is to show a different point of view of the drugs.

Do not try to get more informations about drugs with this serie but try to live an experience threw all these pictures.

WEED

Effects of weed : euphoria, relaxation, creativity, introspection, sleep, slow visual perception, pleasure, contemplation...

Weed is really popular in the young french population, that is why this is the only drug I did not have to travel to shoot. Due to its illegality in France, weed is really expensive so users are using tabacco to fill the joint and save money. In France a gram of weed costs around 10â‚Ź.

ECsTASY

Here we are in Netherlands to discover MDMA, usually called ecstasy or molly. This drug is illegal in France and also in Netherlands but the fact that weed is legal in Netherlands offers more access to stronger drugs on the local black market.

Effects of MDMA : euphoria (general happiness), increased self-confidence, sociability, dilated pupils, relaxation, altered sense of time, enhanced emotions and sexuality.

MUSHROOMS

All the users I talked to agreed on the same point : you can’t describe the mushroom’s effects. But they also agreed that this is a good way to make understand the effects of mushrooms : «Imagine being a baby and discovering all the world with the capacities of a grown up». Mushrooms offer a real journey of 4-5 hours.

Protect & Serve

I have been following the Protection Civile Paris Seine during a year and shooting some events but also their daily, usual work. Protection Civile Paris Seine is an association linked with the Fédération Nationale de Protection Civile created in 1965. Protection Civile Paris Seine is doing rescue interventions, rescuing formations and also solidarty and social actions. They are now 1’300 volunteers, let’s discover their work.

Protection Civile Paris Seine ensuring the safety at ÂŤLa Grande CourseÂť, a running contest in Paris finishing at the Stade de France, Saint-Denis the 31th of March, 2019.

Marauding is a big part of Protection Civile Paris Seine’s work, they are visiting homeless people or people with big financial difficulties to give them food and vital resources. They also spend time with the people they visit to keep them company.

This is an even more important job during this Covid-19 crisis

Protection Civile Paris Seine is also helping the national health services to ensure safety during this COVID-19 crisis doing rescue interventions.
